Understanding Your Patterns

Throughout life we all have compulsive behaviours that we repeat again and again. These are often based on narratives that we created as children and have never really looked at or considered as adults. At the core of my coaching work is a belief that my role is to assist my clients to gain awareness and appreciation of themselves and their habitual patterns.

It is from this place that real work, growth and change can occur.

Every single person has the potential for change and it is during periods where you feel stuck in your life that it is more important than ever to have someone by your side to support and guide you out to the other side. The majority of the work that I do with people sits in a middle ground between counselling and coaching. A lot of my clients that I work with find themselves in a position where counselling is too passive an approach for what they are after but there is still some work to be done on awareness before they can begin goal setting and moving forward.

Some sessions may be very much about you talking and exploring your emotions, some may be more about forward planning and progression based on the self understanding that you have gained. The important thing is that you leave each session feeling that you have more clarity and understanding of yourself than when you came in.

Moving away from that place of comfort and into a place of understanding isn’t always easy but it is the key to making the changes that you so desperately want to achieve in your life. Transitioning from a place of comfort and into self awareness isn’t always comfortable and there are times when beliefs that you have held for a long time may be challenged but the important thing is that you have the knowledge that it will always be approached from a place of love, understanding, insight and compassion. This is exactly why having someone that you trust and feel safe with by your side during the process is crucial.

Whatever you are be a good one

My objective isn’t to change you. Quite the opposite. If someone tries to become something or someone that they are not it will never be sustainable. Whilst you may initially begin to see some improvements in your life eventually old challenges and patterns of behaviour will begin to reemerge and you will be back to square one.
It is only through understanding and accepting yourself that life changing differences can begin to occur.

There is great beauty and power in discovering that you are nowhere near as broken / stuck / inferior / incapable / unlovable / ……. (delete as appropriate!) as you think you are. No one is.

My role is to help you to understand, appreciate and uncover the wonderful uniqueness that is within you so that you can begin to move in the direction that you want your life to go. It is exciting life changing work and with every client that I help I feel honoured to have gone on that journey with them.
